Celtic may need to pay up for Heerenveen's Finnbogason

Heerenveen goal machine Alfred Finnbogason may be out of Celtic's price range according to the players agent.

The 24-year old Icelandic striker, who has already netted 17 goals in Holland this season, is being tracked by the Scottish champions who are pondering a £5million deal.

But Finnbogason's agent, Kees Ploegsma, suggests the Cardiff City, Everton, Roma and Villarreal target would only be available at a higher fee, which he does not necessarily agree on.

"It is logical that the club aims high, but I found the price tag of 10million euros (£8.25m) unrealistic," he said.

"I think Heerenveen would consider any serious offer. It is clear that Alfred wants to leave and the chances are very good that it happens in the summer.

"This would be best for both Alfred and Heerenveen - and I assume his club could use the money.

"But if a good club comes in for him earlier, we would seriously consider their offer."
