Celtic manage to ward Norwich off Hooper

Celtic were able to keep Gary Hooper at the club on deadline day despite an extensive pursuit from Norwich City.

The 25-year old striker was the subject of an £8million bid from the Canaries, which was their fourth proposal, but the Bhoys stayed strong and managed to reject any offers.

There were reports of a fifth bid from Norwich, believed to be around £9.2m, but Hoops boss Neil Lennon denied that was the case.

"Contrary to reports there have been no fresh bids for Gary and even if there are they will be rejected..he is NOT for sale," he posted on Twitter.

Hooper has scored an impressive 57 goals in 83 Scottish Premier League outings for Celtic since his 2010 move from Scunthorpe United for a total of 119 goals from 74 matches.
