Celtic lure too great as Wolves tried for Tottenham striker Keane
Wolves made a bold attempt to bring Tottenham striker Robbie Keane back to Molineux yesterday.
Keane eventually signed on-loan with Celtic in the big transfer story of deadline day.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star: “We asked about Robbie Keane and I spoke to Tottenham on a couple of occasions. We knew what his wages were and we would have done that but he wasn’t going to come to us.
“Almost every loan at this level comes with a really hefty fee, but we would have pushed the boat out to get Robbie.
“In the end, the opportunity to fulfil a lifetime’s ambition to play for Celtic was too much of a pull.”

Over 8 years Spurs made a profit of 1Million on Keane. They got their moneys worth and will make another million on this loan move. Levy is very clever! Its a win win for spurs.

Benitez wasted so much money on Keane and later realised he is such a crap. Later it was Redknapp's turn so he offloaded him to Celtic
