Celtic, Liverpool legend Dalglish: Norwich's Snodgrass, Everton's McCarthy proof of Scotland talent

Kenny Dalglish says there is proof that there are talented players coming through lower league Scottish clubs.

The former Celtic and Liverpool star suggests that Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass' rise to fame from Livingston via Leeds United to the Premier League proves that top quality players can be found in Scotland.

The fact that Everton midfielder James McCarthy (Scotland-raised Republic of Ireland international), formerly of Wigan Athletic, and his old teammate James McArhur came through the ranks at Hamilton Academical adds further evidence his argument.

"Think about Robert Snodgrass," he said. "Where was he five years ago? Livingston!

"Last year Wigan had James McCarthy and James McArthur and both had come from Hamilton Accies.

"So, by the way if you have a look in Scotland, you'll find a few players there somewhere."
