Celtic have opened negotiations with Sunderland as they bid to make striker Daryl Murphy the first signing of the Neil Lennon. Sportsmail understands the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who has also been tracked by Rangers, is keen on the move and a deal could be concluded soon.

While Sunderland were initially looking for £1.7million, it's now understood they will accept Celtic's offer of around £1.3m.
