Celtic legend Dixie Deans rates Gary Hooper the best striker he's seen at Parkhead since Henrik Larsson.
The England U21 prospect has already scored three times against Rangers since his arrival from Scunthorpe United.
Deans told the Scottish Sun: "Hooper has been the signing of the season for Neil Lennon. I've been impressed since the first time I saw him and he's improved even more.
"Celtic have always had good strikers but Hooper is the best for five or six years. Under Martin O'Neill, Larsson, Chris Sutton and John Hartson were outstanding but they have been a hard act to follow.
"Scott McDonald was a good signing for Celtic and scored a lot of important goals.
"But I think Hooper is a far better player and he's younger too.
"The boy has everything - he scores goals, makes goals, is strong and is a worker.
"It's not very often you get a striker with the whole package but Hooper is top-class.
"I only hope Celtic can keep a hold of him for a few years. There are bound to be big English clubs after him."
