Manchester City starlet Brandon Barker is a target for Celtic.

The Daily Star says Leeds United and Celtic went into transfer deadline day hoping to persuade City to release Barker on loan.

And they could be joined by other clubs eyeing Barker, who may be allowed to make a temporary move following City's £54m signing of Kevin De Bruyne.

Barker, 18, is an England Under-19 international, who recently signed a new five-year contract at the Etihad.

He went on the club's pre-season tour and is regarded as one of City's best prospects.
