Celtic kick off title defence with shaky win over Ross County

A late goal from Anthony Stokes gave Celtic a narrow 2-1 victory over Ross County on the opening weekend of the 2013/14 season.

The Scottish champions came from behind to start their title defence with maximum points after Darren Maatsen scored on his debut for the Staggies inside three minutes.

However, Stokes came to the rescue with a leveller prior to the half-hour mark before producing an 87th minute winner at Celtic Park much to the delight of relieved manager Neil Lennon.

"It was a relief, but if we had drawn the game I'd still have been delighted with the way we played," he told Sky Sports.

"The (Ross County) goal sparked us into life and after that some of the football we played attacking wise was as good as we've played in some time."
