Celtic keeper Boruc hands victory to Hibernian

Celtic lost 2-0 at Hibernian following a dreadful mistake from stopper Artur Boruc who allowed a 45 yard strike to find the back of the net. John Rankin's long range effort totally deceived the Polish keeper and Colin Nish added a second, meaning Celtic stay top four points ahead of Rangers.

Bhoys chief Gordon Strachan refused to divulge what he said to Boruc, telling Setanta Sports: "I think when you speak to players after the game, you keep that in the dressing room. So we will do that.

"There were a lot of pats on the back for a lot of the players.

"A lot of my players can get on the bus and say 'I gave it a good go today."'

On the opening goal, he added: "I think if the guy plays here for another 10 years and hits a ball like that, it won't go in the back of the net. But that's life."

The four point lead over Rangers is not concerning Strachan unduly.

"I'm not, but everyone else will," he joked. "All I can do as a manager is ask them to go out there and compete and perform. They did that.

"We just couldn't finish off today and they got a goal out of nothing. Hibs worked very hard and can be pleased with their victory."
