Celtic boss Neil Lennon is believed to be showing interest in Real Betis marksman Jorge Molina.
Reports suggest that the Hoops have made enquiries about the 29-year old Spaniard who is valued at around £2million.
Celtic have already signed three new players this winter - Mikael Lustig, Rabiu Ibrahim and Jaroslaw Fojut - indicating that Hoops chairman Peter Lawwell may not be all that keen on bringing in a fourth new face.
Molina, who joined Betis from Elche in 2010, has scored just two La Liga goals so far this season following his 18 in the Segunda Division last term which guided the Seville club to the second tier title.
