Celtic identify Di Natale as Udinese danger man

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has hinted that if his team can stop Antonio Di Natale then they are a long way to beating Udinese tonight.

The Glasgow outfit need to defeat the Italians in their final Europa League group match to progress to the next stage and Lennon feels that Di Natale holds the key to them getting the required result at Udine's Stadio Friuli.

"I think he's a phenomenal player," the Hoops boss said.

"Watching him again at the weekend he doesn't really get involved in the build-up play.

"Guys who play his role tend not to play in the first two thirds of the pitch but in the final third his movement is electric.

"He comes alive and is such a handful.

"He plays right on the edge of the line. He steps back and forward from an offside position into an onside position. He's very cute and he's also technically brilliant.

"How does he rate in terms of the best strikers around?

"That's a good question because there are so many top strikers around but maybe because he's been at some of the more unfashionable clubs in his career he's flown under the radar.

"He's certainly been around the Italian national side for a long time.

"His record in Serie A speaks for itself and he's the talisman for Udinese.

"The fact is they have been so consistent in the last few years and a lot of that is down to him."
