Celtic hero McDonald: We did it for Tommy

The 1-0 win over Dundee United was enough to clinch the trophy as Rangers went down to Aberdeen 2-0.

Retaining the title was emotional for Celtic players, officials and fans as club legend Tommy Burns passed away just a week ago.

Speaking on BBC Radio in Scotland, McDonald had these heartfelt words to say, "We loved him. He was just a gentleman at heart. God rest his soul. We did this for you Tommy - God bless."

McDonald was arguably the best player for the Scottish champions in just his first season at the club, scoring 31 goals to help The Hoops to a third consecutive title.

However, he was just happy to be a part of it. He added, "It's something I'll never forget. After three years ago, it's great to put that right and I'm certainly going to enjoy this."
