Celtic hammered by Greuther Furth in preseason friendly

Scottish champions Celtic have been beaten 6-2 by German club Greuther Furth in a preseason friendly.

The Hoops trailed 3-2 at half-time with nearer their first choice side before conceding a further three goals in the second after making a number of changes to the line-up.

Nikola Djurdjic netted a first-half double with Kevin Kraus also on the scoresheet for the 2.Bundesliga side whilst Georgios Samaras and Mikael Lustig scored for Celtic.

The second half was a different story however with Greuther extending their lead through Dominick Drexler before Senegalese striker Baye Djiby Fall scoring twice at the end.

The loss was the third suffered by Celtic this preseason, following defeats to Ukrainian side Sevastopol and Romanian outfit Cluj, ahead of their Champions League qualifier with Northern Irish club Cliftonville next week.
