Scottish champions Celtic tried to sign Michu from Swansea City on deadline day it has been revealed.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hoops wanted to lure the Spanish forward from the Liberty Stadium to Parkhead but were unable to complete a deal before Tuesday night's deadline.

Michu is not part of Garry Monk's plans in South Wales this season and was being linked with a summer exit but there were no suitors, apart from Celtic, who failed to land the former Napoli loanee despite the fact Stefan Scepovic left on loan for Getafe.
