Celtic facing UEFA disciplinary action

Celtic could be in hot water with UEFA over ‘illicit chanting’ during their recent Europa League clash with Stade Rennes.

Celtic could be in hot water with UEFA over ‘illicit chanting’ during their recent Europa League clash with Stade Rennes.

The Hoops defeated the French club 3-1 at Parkhead on November 3 but will now be called before UEFA’s disciplinary board ‘to face a charge of an incident of an unsporting nature, namely illicit chanting.’

Celtic said they were looking into claims that some supporters were singing pro-IRA chants which comes not long after Hoops fans complained to the club that some sections of the travelling support were using the chants at a match against Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle.
