Celtic have expressed interest in Everton midfielder Tom Davies.

The Daily Mail says the 20-year-old playmaker - who captained the Toffees against Arsenal earlier this season - hasn't featured for the Goodison giants since October.

Celtic head of recruitment Lee Congerton is now said to have targeted Davies and made enquiries with Everton as to his availability.

A loan swoop was mooted. But it appears the Bhoys have hit a brick wall in their bid.

Toffees boss Marco Silva batted the notion Davies could be allowed out on loan well into touch.
