Celtic defender unhappy with Old Firm yellow card

Celtic defender Mark Wilson was disappointed to br shown a yellow card for diving from referee Craig Thomson in the Old Firm defeat to Rangers at Ibrox. Wilson believes the referee made a mistake in handing him a yellow card in Sunday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League match.

"After being clipped I stumbled in the box, just because of the pace I was going at trying to chase down the ball," the former Dundee United defender told the clubs official website.

"I wasn't looking for any decision to be made and did not claim for anything, but the next thing I know I've been given a yellow card for diving.

"Clearly I am very disappointed about that.

"I think everyone can see that that was not the case.

"I bear no grudge at all to Craig, the referee, and I am not looking in any way to 'slam' or criticise him.

"He is a very good referee and someone who needs to make the decisions he feels are correct, at a particular time, but anyone who knows me knows that I would not dive to gain any advantage."
