Wigan Athletic remain in the frame to land Celtic defender Gary Caldwell.

The Sunday Mail says Caldwell is stalling on joining his former manager Gordon Strachan at Middlesbrough amid interest from Wigan.

And it's understood the 27-year-old will meet Latics boss Roberto Martinez within the next 24 hours to discuss a switch.

Wigan and Boro are both prepared to pay £1m but Caldwell favours a move to the Premiership.
