Celtic colts side backed by manager Lennon

Neil Lennon has backed the proposal of entering a Celtic colts or 'B' team into the Scottish Football League.

As the debate continues about possible league reconstruction for next season and beyond, Lennon says the idea of having a second Hoops team entered into the SFL's lower leagues would be great for the club but isn't sure if outsiders would go for it.

"Why not?," he said when quizzed on the topic which would also include Old Firm rivals Rangers.

"I think it would be good for the game but from what I gather there is not too much support for that. I think it was mooted maybe a year or two ago but nothing was taken on with it.

"For us, it is a good idea. Ourselves and Rangers are probably the only clubs who could afford to do that. Whether it would bring crowds in, give our players experience, I don't know."
