Celtic challenge Everton for Coventry keeper Westwood

Celtic are ready to beat Everton for Coventry City goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.

The Mirror says Hoops boss Neil Lennon wants Westwood to join his SPL outfit in the summer but may tie him to a pre-contract shortly if he can sort out personal terms with the highly-rated shot-stopper.

Westwood cut his teeth at Newcastle and starred for Carlisle before establishing himself as a top keeper with Coventry - but the time is now eight for him to move on to bigger things.

Everton are also keeping an eye on Westwood in case their proposed deal for Preston's Andy Lonergan falls through. The North End keeper has been training with David Moyes's side ahead of a potential summer switch.
