Celtic captain Brown hopes Rodgers rejects Arsenal overtures

Celtic captain Scott Brown has urged his manager Brendan Rodgers to remain at the Hoops amidst speculation that he could succeed Arsene Wenger as manager of Arsenal during the summer.

Wenger announced last Friday that he would be stepping down from his role as manager of the Gunners at the end of this season and since then, speculation has intensified that Rodgers could be the next man in line to become manager of the club.

Celtic's majority shareholder Dermot Desmond has since also said that he will not stand in Rodgers way should he wish to make a return to the Premier League.

Brown said: "The gaffer [Rodgers] has been unbelievable since he came in. The way he wants to play and the way we set up, everything is so professional now. It's been fantastic for myself and everyone in that dressing room.

"We hope he stays, he is loving his time here and he has that seventh title to pick up as well."
