Celtic can return to CL Round of 16…if we keep the same team - Ledley

Joe Ledley is confident that Celtic can again be involved in the Champions League knockout stages provided they keep their current group together.

Welsh midfielder Ledley and his Hoops teammates made it through to the Round of 16 where they were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by Juventus and he feels there could be a repeat performance on the cards next season if manager Neil Lennon can keep the majority of the players in the same squad.

"If we can keep a lot of our players, we'd have a fantastic chance of returning to the last 16 of the Champions League. There's always going to be interest in our boys, because we achieved some great things this season, but you never know," he said.

"We have gelled fantastically well as a team and it would be incredible if we can keep it together. Anything can happen in football and if it was that everyone stayed, we would have a fantastic chance to go one step further.

"It's a great team and squad and we have proved that in domestic and European games now. Hopefully, we can stay together as a group and qualify for this again.

"One thing is for sure - confidence is sky high. Everyone has grown massively and there will be a lot of interest in the boys."
