Ahead of today's League Cup final, Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has paid tribute to Australian striker Scott McDonald. "Put him on the open market and there'd be a lot of people interested," said Strachan.
"He had to improve as a man from his Southampton days.
"It's no coincidence that all the top players I've worked with are good men who have humility and who understand what team-mates are all about.
"It's a lovely place to live, Southampton. It's home from home for an Australian lad. The boats and the sun and the rest of it. What Scotty's done is go out into the real world and he's had a dose of that at Bournemouth and then at Motherwell. He should be pleased with himself. At the beginning of the season he wasn't on fire but now he's back to something like his best."
