Celtic boss Lennon stands firm regarding Southampton target Hooper

Neil Lennon has again made it vehemently clear that Celtic’s leading scorer Gary Hooper will not be leaving the club this winter.

Championship league leaders Southampton have been on the 23-year olds trail for the past few weeks and have seen two bids turned down with a third one expected to come.

But Lennon has no intentions of selling Hooper or any of his other key players as he looks to end a three-season Scottish league title drought.

“There hasn’t been another bid and our stance hasn’t changed,” he said.

“The retention of all my best players is key to winning the title and Gary comes into that bracket.”
