Celtic boss Lennon: I told Diouf to shut his mouth

The feud between Celtic and Rangers loanee El-Hadji Diouf has continued with Hoops boss Neil Lennon admitting he told the Senegalese striker to 'shut up'.

Sunday's Scottish Cup fifth round match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, has had a fair bit of fall-out after Diouf and Celtic skipper Scott Brown clashed and now Lennon has jumped into the war of words, saying that the Blackburn Rovers man got lippy with him in the tunnel after the match.

"I know he's said something about me today that's just nonsense. I just told him to keep quiet because he had a lot to say for himself," Lennon told SunSport.

"There was a lot that went on in the game and these things should be left on the pitch instead of telling everyone how hard done by he feels about it."

And Lennon also agreed with referee Calum Murray's decision to send 'Gers striker Steve Naismith for simulation in the penalty box.

"The Naismith thing? I think the ref called it right," he added.

"Naismith went to take a dive in the first ten minutes and wasn't booked so he can count himself fortunate to be on the pitch as long as he was."
