Celtic boss Lennon determined to reward Kayal

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has made it abundantly clear that he wants to secure in-form midfielder Beram Kayal on a long-term contract.

The 23-year old Israel international produced another stellar display as the Hoops went within a point of league leaders Rangers with a 4-1 victory over Dundee United at Celtic Park yesterday.

Lennon said it is vital that the club rewards players such as Kayal and admits that the player will be offered a more lucrative deal to the current one which has three years remaining.

"Kayal was world class and he and Scott Brown were magnificent from start to finish. We've already said we will speak at the end of the season and reward him for what he's done. He was great," said Lennon.

"Kayal and Brown had to cope with three United players in midfield because we wanted to play with width.

"They had to work hard and the effort, strength and power they bring to the team is fantastic. It is as good a midfield as we have had for a long time here."
