Celtic boss Lennon confirms hope of keeping Newcastle's Forster

Celtic are closing on a permanent deal for Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Neil Lennon has revealed plans to tie goalkeeper Forster to Celtic on a permanent basis in the coming weeks.

"We're hoping to speak to his agent and Fraser himself in the next few weeks. He knows we're very keen to get things tied up with him," Lennon said.

"He's had a fantastic two seasons here. I think with the feeling he might have got last Saturday - and the experience all the players got - it would be very difficult for him to leave us now.

"We'll sit down with him. He's making all the right noises at the minute, so it's just a question of getting things belted out.

"There's no deadline on a decision - we don't want to put extra pressure on him."
