Celtic manager Neil Lennon feels it would be great for the game in Scotland an Old Firm match were to be played abroad.
Rangers stated over the weekend that both their club and the Hoops could benefit greatly out of playing a post-season or pre-season friendly, possibly in the USA, whilst Scottish Football Association president Campbell Ogilvie hinted that any request to play such a game would certainly be considered.
And Lennon believes it is a good idea but remained cautious as to the logistics of the event.
"It depends on the circumstances and depends if we could generate the interest, although I'm sure we could in America," said Lennon.
"In the post-season, it depends how harrowing the season has been on the players.
"If they have to travel to America to play in a friendly, I'm not sure too many players would want to put their hands up for that one.
"In principle it seems like a decent idea but whether all the logistics can be accompanied with that, I don't know."
