Celtic to avoid January loan deals - Lennon

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says he will not go after any loan or short-term deals this winter.

The Hoops boss insist he won't look to bring in quick fixes in January as he looks to sign players that can be integrated into the squad for now and for the future.

"We are always looking to give fans value for money and to bring a player in who might capture the imagination," he said.

"But I will not make a signing just to put bums on seats. I don't want to bring any players like that in because it won't serve any purpose going forward. Any player we do bring in I would like to be permanent."

Celtic have previously signed such players as Freddie Ljungberg, Craig Bellamy, Robbie Keane and Roy Keane in January to sate the supporters but Lennon's comments suggest the Bhoys will not do down a similar path in 2014.
