Celtic attacker Commons has no regrets over Rangers comments

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons stands by his comments earlier this season made about champions Rangers.

Commons insists he was right with his description.

He said: "I don't regret saying we were younger, fitter and stronger, I still believe we are.

"I think when we are on song, we are untouchable.

"We beat Rangers 3-0 (in the SPL) and we were far better than them. But we go to Inverness and we collapse and we went to Motherwell and collapsed.

"When you look at the average of our squad - Beram Kayal, Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes, Emilio Izaguirre and Charlie Mulgrew, they are all 22, 23 or 24, at the top of their game and international players.

"But you can't buy experience and Davie Weir got them (Rangers) rallied up and rightly so took them to the title because overall this season, they have been the better side.

"Rangers are a good side, they have good players and have experience in Davie Weir, Sasa Papac and Allan McGregor, but we have to concentrate on what we do next season.

"We have a young squad and this sort of experience will make us stronger."
