Celtic agree to loan Rogic to Japan

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has agreed to send Tom Rogic on loan to Japanese club Vegalta Sendai.

The 21-year old Australian midfielder is crying out for regular game time ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and is set to spend the rest of the 2013/14 Scottish Premier League season in the J.League.

Lennon has confirmed that the Hoops have accepted a loan offer from Vegalta who are coached by Graham Arnold, Rogic's former boss at Central Coast Mariners.

"There is interest from Graham Arnold's team in Japan. We have agreed to do that [loan him]," Lennon told the Evening Times in Glasgow.

"I can't guarantee Tom game in, game out. And I think that's what he needs at the minute.

"He has only had 31 professional games in his career so some people are expecting him to run before he can walk.

"Kris Commons is playing so well in that position, and I have other options in that position (attacking midfield) as well. It will be good for Tom to go and get some football."
