Celtic got the job done in the Scottish Premier League today with a 4-1 home win over Dundee United. A day after title rivals Rangers hammered Motherwell 5-0 to go four points clear at the summit, the Bhoys heaped the pressure on their Glasgow foes with an assured victory at Parkhead to cut the deficit to one with a game in hand.
Gary Hooper kicked things off with a finish from close range after Anthony Stokes played him across the six-yard box in the 23rd minute.
Half an hour later, Beram Kayal added a second with a wonderful 30-yard strike to put the home side in a commanding position before Kris Commons wrapped up the points five minutes from time with a finish from 10 yards.
However, there was time for more goals with Dundee's Johnny Russell netting in the final of the match before Celtic helped themselves to a fourth through substitute Daryl Murphy.
The Hoops will now travel to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for their 'catch-up' game on Wednesday before another trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday whilst 'Gers are at home to Heart of Midlothian on Saturday as the title race really heats up.
