Celtic ace McGeady: This title best of career

Celtic secured their third championship in a row after winning their last seven games to pip Rangers to the title.

"I've now won six trophies for Celtic but that was the best of the lot - without question. In the last two seasons, we won the league with quite a bit to spare and that makes the celebrations a bit different," McGeady told the Celtic View.

"This year, with the title going to the last day, the pressure was on us and it was one of the best feelings I've ever had when that final whistle blew. The celebrations and scenes inside Tannadice will always stay with me.

"Winning those games against Rangers was massive for us," he said. "It was crunch time and we knew there was no margin for error. To beat them twice set us up for the run-in.

"To be honest though, it wasn't just the Rangers games that made the difference. Every one of our last seven games was against top-six teams.

"We had to play Rangers twice, we had to go to Fir Park twice, Tannadice once and we also had to face Hibernia n and Aberdeen. That's the best teams in the league and we handled it brilliantly. To pick up 21 points was phenomenal."

Reflecting on a successful season, the PFA Player of the Year is aiming to raise his game to another level next year.

"Personally, it's been a good year for me and I've been pleased with my form and the way I'm developing. I am getting that little bit older and I enjoy taking on the responsibility of creating chances for the team.

"In saying that though, you can always improve. I'm pleased with the amount of games I've played for Celtic, and the trophies I've won, but I'm always going to work hard to improve my game and hopefully next season I can do even better."
