Petr Cech can sense a new hunger amongst Luiz Felipe Scolari's Chelsea players this season.
The goalkeeper told The Sun: "The team is hungrier than in previous years. You can tell we didn't win anything last year, even though we effectively played three finals.
"That's one of the main reasons we are very motivated this year. A new coach has arrived and brought in new people.
"Every one of us wants to show he is in the team by right. We want to get back to where we belong - to be fighting at the top and to win a trophy.
"Last year, we changed coach, we lost two finals and we only lost the league by two points. There probably won't be anything that will disrupt the entire year like last time."
The training sessions might be different but the keeper revealed Scolari's quickly-forged bond with his players is similar to the tight relationship The Special One enjoyed with most of his squad.
Cech said: "His training methods are different to what we had before with Mourinho. We also have a new fitness trainer. That's the main difference.
"Both Scolari and Mourinho are similar in that they want to make the team like a big family. That's important. They both want a team that works and sticks together."
Meanwhile, poor old Avram Grant hardly warrants a mention. Cech added: "I wouldn't say it was different under Grant but it's hard to evaluate him when he only came in halfway through the season to fill a gap."
