Cech: Grant winning over Chelsea doubters

After victory at Middlesbrough, Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes new manager Avram Grant will begin winning over the doubters.

He said: "We've had good results in the last four games now. As a player you need to adapt as soon as you can to changes. We've needed a bit of time but I think everyone has adapted very quickly. Now we're playing better and better.

"Everyone is different but, for myself, any decision which is surprising is difficult to take. But the most important thing is the team and you have to give 100 per cent for the team at all times. It was a big shock but you can see from the direction we're going that everyone is giving their all.

"We've tried to help the new manager and the new coaches by getting good results because the team is always the main focus. Suddenly when you change everything that worked for many years and was successful, it is always a big shock.

"We need a bit of time to try to forget about it and to concentrate on our football. Games come so quickly, week in week out, that you have no chance to think about anything else."
