Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is chasing PSG striker Edinson Cavani. The Daily Star says Van Gaal and the United hierarchy were impressed with the Uruguayan's performance against Chelsea in last week's Champions League clash.

Cavani netted a well placed header beyond a helpless Thibaut Courtois to give the French giants hope of reaching the quarter-finals.

The 28-year-old's unrest in France has been well documented, and murmurings of a £60m move away from Parc des Princes have gathered momentum in recent weeks.

With Cavani back on the radar, Radamel Falcao's looks to be on borrowed time at Old Trafford.

Falcao is on-loan at United from AS Monaco to season's end.
