Diego Cavalieri is delighted with his move to Liverpool.
The former Palmeiras goalkeeper arrived on Merseyside yesterday and declared: "I watched some Liverpool games last year and I know Pepe Reina is a very good keeper.
Cavalieri signed a four-year deal last night after Liverpool agreed a £3million fee with Brazilian outfit Palmeiras. And he added: "I know I will have to be patient and work very hard to achieve my aims - but it is always like that when you come from another country.
"You have to adapt on and off the pitch and get used to the way things work. But with hard work you get there.
"My confidence has got me where I am today and maybe people are aware of what I did at Palmeiras in Brazil. I'm sure that one day I can get the No 1 position but it will only come with hard work."
The Brazilian also said: "Liverpool is known all around the world. It's an honour to wear this shirt.
"It is a dream to come to Europe. I have been given a good welcome from my team-mates and manager, so I'm very happy. I just hope I can respond.
"Rafa talked to me about the responsibilities of representing a club like Liverpool."
