Catania's sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco has had another dig at Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho following their verbal scuffle earlier in the season.

Lo Monaco has defended Italian football after Mourinho's jibes said the sport was not attracting fans abroad.

"Is our football not appreciated abroad? That's just nonsense - Jose likes to be a provocateur," the Lo Monaco told Tuttomercatoweb.

"He loves sensationalism and that's what he has been doing ever since he arrived in Italy. Calcio has a great following, whatever he says.

"I don't feel the need to reconcile with Mourinho. We have already said everything and I have nothing more to say about him."
