Catania president Antonio Pulvirenti admits they did have a pre-contract with AC Milan over the sale of Maxi Lopez - but it no longer exists.

Maxi now will be permitted to talk to other clubs about a transfer out of the Stadio Angelo Massimino.

"There was an agreement with Milan, but that has now expired and so we are now free to look elsewhere. You must understand that anything can happen now.

"We will not wait until the final day though, Maxi has offers from other clubs."
