Catania chief Pietro Lo Monaco admits they want to see striker Maxi Lopez move to AC Milan in January.

Maxi is interesting Milan as they seek a replacement for Antonio Cassano following his heart surgery.

I read the recent comments from Maxi Lopez, but if a journalist asks him if he would like to play for Milan, what else is he going to say?" said general manager Lo Monaco.

"We are a small club. If Milan come calling, then Catania absolutely have to answer, just as the player must.

"I appreciated the words of Adriano Galliani, who showed interest towards Maxi Lopez.

"If Milan need a striker, then we are happy to sit round a table and find the best solution. For now there has only been mutual appreciation, as it is a solution that would suit everybody."
