Catania chief Pietro Lo Monaco has ruled out selling Maxi Lopez in January.
The Argentine has been linked with Manchester United and Napoli in recent weeks.
But Lo Monaco insists: "Maxi Lopez is with Catania, but he should be part of a great team. The wind cannot hold him back, after a year and a half we would be making an act of treason.
"In June, there will be opportunities to fulfill his dream and also a desire. If an offer came in January he would remain with us, beyond transfer business, the safety of Catania is a priority.
"Removing our best striker would be counterproductive to the team.
"In June, Maxi Lopez will go away, the soil is fertile, there are some offers that have already arrived."
