Catania transfer chief Pietro Lo Monaco has expressed interest in Inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alvarez.
Lo Monaco suggests tomorrow's rivals Inter should sign Alejandro Gomez in exchange for Alvarez.
"I consider Alvarez a great player who is merely paying for the difficult moment of the whole Inter team," said the Catania general manager.
"Pablo Barrientos is football and can do whatever he wants with his feet. He has exceptional technique. I have already received requests in Italy and I think he'd do well at Milan.""If they don't want him, then let Inter know that we'll gladly take him off their hands! We can do an exchange for Gomez. The Nerazzurri liked Gomez in January, but talks did not really develop. They could be resumed in June, of course.
