Catania boss Montella happy Maxi Lopez saga now over

Catania coach Vincenzo Montella is happy Maxi Lopez has finally moved to AC Milan.

The striker was on tenterhooks until the last minute, when City rejected the latest offer and so Lopez was given the all-clear.

“In many years of football I have never seen a situation like it,” said Montella. “It’s bizarre and I was surprised by the unprecedented nature of this saga. At least he finally got to live his dream.”
