Castillo influence so important for FC Dallas - Pareja

Oscar Pareja was full of praise for Fabian Castillo following his match-winning outing for FC Dallas on the weekend.

The Colombian netted twice as the Texans returned to the winners' list after a two-game losing run with a 3-2 home triumph over Toronto FC.

Pareja indicated that Castillo was not the be-all and end-all to the Dallas team but highlighted the importance of the 22-year old talent.

"As much as he's a key, I think the team is what makes it happen," said Pareja.

"At the same time, I say that defensively, this was one of the games where he worked the most, and that's the key for us."

The FCD boss added: "We have been spending a lot of time on finishing, just keeping more hours of training in front of the goal.

"I thought last year Fabian scoring 10 goals, and this year just getting the production early, just shows that the work is worth it."

Dallas now sit second on the Western Conference table ahead of the weekend's trip to bottom-placed Colorado Rapids.
