Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luc Castaignos has jumped to the defence of Manchester United winger Memphis Depay.
Memphis has been dropped by United boss Louis van Gaal in recent weeks amid reports of his off-the-field antics.
"If you're not performing well enough, the media get into you," said Castaignos, who left Feyenoord for Inter Milan early in his career. "Especially when you're not getting on the field.
"If Holland had made the Euros, Memphis wearing his hat and scarf would not have been an issue."
Memphis missed the 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace reportedly due to injury.
