Former Manchester City youth chief Jim Cassell says Vladimir Weiss could be a worldbeater.
Weiss was outstanding on-loan at Rangers in their victory over Motherwell on Sunday.
Cassell says the Slovakian could be anything, if he can hone his game.
He explained to The Herald: "If you're a boxer with a knockout punch, then you don't throw it out there every time. You wait your time and then deliver. It's the same with Vladimir and his style of play.
"He's got to learn how to utilise that magnificent ability he's got and build that into his game, as well as learning how to keep possession and working with his team-mates. He's got to accept that he can't score a goal every time or beat four people every time he gets the ball. You don't have to look good every time you get the ball, you just have to be good. That means making the right choices."
Cassell added: "I believe that people of his style, like goalkeepers, mature later in their careers. I think come the age of 25 or 26 he can be absolute anything he wants to be. By then he'll have learned more about the game, he'll know how to work with others, and he will have learnt from operating alongside good professionals.
"He's already an internationalist so it's only the fact that the standard in the Premier League is so high from top to bottom that he's not achieved more here. I hope Vladimir comes back to City but who knows. The club is moving at such a rate of knots it's hard to predict. But I'd love to see him return as he's already such a top talent at a young age."
