Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has dismissed reports of a rift with Liverpool ace Fernando Torres as they battle for this year's Ballon d'Or.

"We spoke about it," Casillas said. "Fernando Torres is my team-mate and my friend, nothing else matters. This is the end of the controversy. Everything is crystal clear to us.

"We would all like to win medals, me as well. But to me the Ballon d'Or is not an obsession. I am just trying to do good things on the pitch and if something must happen it will happen.

"The good thing is that there are several Spaniards in the short-list this year."
