Cash-strapped Barcelona need Arsenal to accept players in Cesc offer

Barcelona need to convince Arsenal to accept players in their bid for Cesc Fabregas if it's to succeed.

The Daily Mail says insiders state the Catalans are reluctant to pay more than £30million for the 23-year-old and will look to offer players in part-exchange.

Barca are already committing about £40m to signing David Villa from Valencia - a deal they hope to conclude this week - and do not have the same levels of cash to spend as rivals Real Madrid.

They could offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic in as a straight swap, while a number of candidates could be used to tempt Gunners boss Arsene Wenger into a part-exchange.

Midfielder Yaya Toure and 19-year-old striker Bojan long been mooted for moves to north London, though the latest option could be to offer Ibrahimovic to Wenger.

Mexico defender Rafael Marquez, 31, is another possibility and would fit Wenger's desire to add experience to a central defence which is likely to lose William Gallas this summer.
