Caserta admits Palermo must shake-off form slide

Palermo midfielder Fabio Caserta admits they must shake themselves out of their current form slide.

"We have had a lot of bad luck, both last Wednesday and Sunday, but we keep giving our best," Caserta stated.

"We just have to keep concentrated because we can't afford to be conceding these goals. But the problem isn't just the defence - it also lies in the midfield and attack.

"Unfortunately we have had a few tough games, but we have to stay calm as bad periods happen to everyone.

"It's not right to over-dramatise and talk about the Champions League every time we win and relegation when we lose - we are an excellent side and we can do well, even if we have to settle for aiming at a UEFA Cup place."

A trip to the Stadio Olimpico to face a Roma side on superb form is far from what the doctor ordered and Caserta knows just how dangerous the Giallorossi can be.

"Now we need to look forward and we have a tough game awaiting us," he stressed. "Roma are one of the strongest sides in the League and we are aware of their quality.

"It's an important game and I haven't forgotten the 7-0 defeat I endured there with Catania last year. We just need a good result and that can be a turning point."
