Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino says Christian Benteke has only himself to blame for flopping at Liverpool.
Crystal Palace centre-forward Benteke's winning goal against Liverpool yesterday meant that the former Reds striker has now scored more goals at Anfield as an opposition forward than he did as a Liverpool player.
Cascarino wrote for The Times: "To me his performances in recent weeks do not make me question why Jurgen Klopp decided to sell him, rather they make me wonder why he didn't produce more in his time at Anfield.
"He has always had talent and potential but he is a player I think is guilty of playing within himself. He looked lazy and Klopp wanted more effort and team play from the Belgian but didn't get it.
"Alan Pardew had similar complaints earlier this season and clearly Sam Allardyce has managed to get more out of him and must take credit for that."
